Emily Schmitt, DNP

Emily Schmitt, DNP, FNP-C, is an interventional radiology nurse practitioner with the UP Health System - Marquette Heart & Vascular Center. An Upper Peninsula native, she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Michigan and, following school, worked as a registered nurse in the Family Birthing Center and Emergency Department at UP Health System - Marquette. Emily then decided to further her medical education by earning her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Montana State University in Bozeman, MT. Prior to rejoining UP Health System, Emily worked as a nurse practitioner in Wasilla, AK, as well as Suttons Bay, MI. "Being from the area, it's a joy to return and take care of my community once again - it feels like a full circle moment. It's an honor to guide someone through an uncertain time or situation with kindness, empathy, and expertise." Outside of work, Emily enjoys spending time with her family, the Upper Peninsula's four seasons of outdoor adventure, biking, and yoga.
