Yasser Salem, MD

Dr. Salem is a Cardiologist with the UP Health System - Marquette Heart & Vascular Center. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology, and advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology, and is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and American College of Cardiology. He completed his medical education and some postdoctoral training at Alexandria University Hospitals. After leaving Egypt, he moved to the United States and completed both his residency in internal medicine and his cardiovascular disease fellowship at the Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University. Following his medical education and training, Dr. Salem was the Director of Cardiovascular Services for Aurora Health Care in Marinette, WI, where he later opened his own clinic that is still operational, The Heart Failure Survival Center of America, SC. "The best part of my job is having the opportunity to make a difference in people's lives and seeing their health and quality of life improve. I'm grateful to be part of the friendly and passionate team here whose biggest goal aligns with mine - to put the patient at the center of care." He has been in practice for over 23 years and continues to pursue his education in cardiovascular medicine. Outside of work, Dr. Salem enjoys the access to our beautiful natural resources, Lake Superior views, gardening, fishing and traveling.
